Pinoy Help Charity was founded in 2020 by Derek Penney, as a way of giving back to the world in a measurable, traceable way. On his own time and expense, Derek organized over a dozen charitable projects with the support of local volunteers in the Philippines from 2020 until 2023.
In 2023, the Pinoy Help Charity applied for formal recognition as a Registered Charity in Canada.
On June 12, 2024, Pinoy Help Charity was formally recognized as a Registered Charitable Organization under the Income Tax Act of Canada.
With a growing team of members and volunteers, Pinoy Help Charity is looking to grow in outreach, fundraising, and annual project delivery while collaborating with barangay communities.
